Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)  

The SF area is served by the BART system.  This high speed train goes about everywhere including the SF airport.  It goes through a tube under the Bay to Oakland and Concord.  You buy tickets as debit cards at the stations in various denominations.  When you pass a gate to board a train the fare is automatically deducted.  The fare from SFO to Embarcedero street is $ 5.15 One way.  Now here is the kicker.  Seniors 65 and over get a 62.5% discount!  Buy a $24.00 ticket and you pay $9.00 bucks.  Click <Here> to view BART's Website with maps.
