ATA's & Mulberries
Nafts member, Ed LeVangie, has been building models for years. Ed started with a model of the ATA 172, his ship, and continued on ... and on. He built dozens of ATA's along with Mulberries (huge barge like structures that served a dual purpose in WW-II, being used to create artificial harbors and unloading stations on site). He then built the trucks, the howitzers, and other war supplies to be lashed to the barges. A huge setup. Ed displayed some models at the Nafts 1999 Reunion in Massachusetts but he displays most of his creations permanently at Battleship Cove in Fall River, MA ... home of the BB USS Massachusetts and other vessels. Below is some of Ed's handiwork, including a Mulberry with an ATA sitting atop it and a couple of ATA's that Ed built. That's Ed in the last photo.
