USS Lipan ATF 85

Nafts Member, Joel Hilpert, a Lipan crew member sent in these photos of a model that he and a co-worker created circa 1980.  His co-worker friend was an avid model builder and gave Joe a hull that he thought resembled an ATF.  The two then gathered cannibalized plastic model parts, some baling wire and chewing gum.  The only plans they had were a couple of old photos and Joe's memory of his Lipan years back in the mid to  late 1960's.  

The photos below show their handiwork and, considering that its all built from scraps, its quite an accomplishment.  The first photo gives a measure of the model so that you get an indication of its size.
