I was aboard her from Jan 64 to around Sept. 64 temporary duty after bootcamp and before EM-A school. The Cree was an immaculate ship in those days. Her crew was proud of her and maintained her with pride. The motor room was always spotless, and the whole ship felt like it was the Capt’s yacht. The only sea time I had on the Cree was local around SanDiego. After A school I put in for ATFs first choice and got the Molala (ATF106) and spent the rest of my enlistment on her.
