Our shipmate and the NAFTS Treasurer for the past several years, Nick Radke crossed the bar on 3 February 2011 after a short stay in the hospital. Nick, as many of us remember suffered from heart problems for the last several years. Nicks dedication to details as the NAFTS Treasurer earned him the respect of the board. His cheery disposition and friendliness made him a centerpiece at all NAFTS reunions. Nick served on USS Takelma (ATF 113) 1956-1958. He was a member of NAFTS since 2001.

My book is abut the making of a sailor in the Korean War. It is a book about war and a book about peace. It aims to awaken our greatness and patriotism as American citizens.
